Thanks to the Thermomix a few couple of years ago I decided to prepare homemade nougat for the holidays, which makes it much easier to prepare different recipes, the first nougat I prepared was turron of cream and nuts, it’s my favourite.
Homemade turron is better than commercial turron
I assure you, that has nothing to do, comparing the homemade with the one we find at the market, no doubt, homemade is more edlicious, and healthier, of course.
CURIOSITIES OF THE TURRON
Did you know that the first mention of this sweet was made in 1570?
That’s right, in a book by the Sevillian Lopez de Rueda, this Christmas dessert was already mentioned.
Currently, Spain is the world’s leading producer of marzipan and Christmas sweets.
Nougat is a french dessert of similar appearance and taste; Italy, Denmark, Arab countries and Israel are some of the countries that also have similar desserts, all of them with different ingredients and flavors, such as, for example, sesame, honey, fruit or pistachios.
- 150 ml cream
- 175 gr sugar
- 100 gr nuts
- 100 gr almonds
Chop the nuts and almonds, set for 20 sec / 5-6 speed, reserve in a bowl.
Add sugar and we pulverize for 15 sec / speed 5-10 progressively, add the cream, set for 12 min / varoma / speed 3, without the lid.
Add the cream to the bowl of walnuts and almonds, mix well, and pour everything in the silicone mold.
Let cool in the refrigerator to harden.
